Boise River Fly Co – Logo Design Brief
Boise River Fly Co is a premium fly-fishing brand rooted in the culture, landscape, and waters of Idaho. I am looking for a timeless, professional logo that feels authentic to the Boise River and the fly-fishing lifestyle.
The logo must include the words “Boise River Fly Co” and feature a prominent trout as the primary design element. The trout should incorporate an accurate topographic representation of the Boise River watershed, with the river and contour lines naturally integrated into the fish’s body and coloration. As well as trying to incorporate each trout below into the coloring of the trout , possibly using the river itself to divide the fish into 4 upper sections and a lower (belly) section where the uppers are fish colors and the lower is topographic contour lines.

Fly – Brown Trout
Co – Cutthroat Trout
The species-inspired colors should be elegant and recognizable without feeling overly bright, cartoonish, or busy.
The overall style should be clean, premium, and timeless—something that would look equally good on hats, apparel, drift boats, stickers, signage, and embroidered merchandise. Think modern outdoor lifestyle branding blended with classic fly-shop heritage and Western aesthetics.

Please avoid clip-art fish, exaggerated gradients, neon colors, or overly complex details that will not scale well across different applications. The design should maintain strong readability and visual impact in both full-color and black-and-white formats.

Designers are welcome to explore horizontal layouts, or emblem-style concepts, provided the core vision remains intact: a sophisticated Idaho fly-fishing logo that celebrates the Boise River, honors four beloved trout species, and creates a brand identity that anglers would proudly wear for generations.
