Cup and Mug Design Brief

About us
TimeOut Racing is an international off-road motorsport team from Switzerland, specialised in the Rally Dakar and Dakar Classic. We are producing four drink flavours as printed cans, used as team and event drinks. We are looking for a strong, consistent design in the style of well-known energy brands (think Monster Energy): bold, vibrant and instantly recognisable.
The task
Design four can designs (250ml SlimLine) that work together as a clearly recognisable series (same design language, same base layout, same logo placement), while each flavour is clearly distinct from the others. Important: the flavour should be recognisable at first glance, ideally through one clear base colour per flavour.
The four flavours

ENERGY Drink (aggressive, powerful)
ISO Drink (fresh, sporty, isotonic)
Mango Drink (fruity, sunny)
Colamix (classic cola)

Each can must clearly display its flavour name.
Colours (idea only, not fixed)
The colour choice is entirely up to you as the designer. The only requirement is that each flavour gets its own clearly distinguishable colour world and that the flavour is intuitively recognisable. As non-binding inspiration: Energy could be red, ISO blue, Mango orange, Colamix black. Feel free to surprise us with your own bold ideas, as long as the four flavours stay easy to tell apart.
Style and look

Cool, modern, high energy, premium feel in the style of Monster Energy, Red Bull, Prime
Vibrant, punchy colours are explicitly encouraged
Dynamic graphic elements welcome (splashes, claw marks, light streaks, abstract shapes, carbon, energy effects)
A reference to motorsport, rally or desert is allowed but not required (e.g. tyre tracks, speed, off-road). Use it only if it makes the design stronger
The four cans must clearly read as one family when placed side by side

Must include

The TimeOut Racing logo, clearly visible and prominently placed (logo file will be provided)
The flavour name, clearly legible (ENERGY, ISO, MANGO, COLAMIX)
Consistent logo position and design system across all four cans

No-gos

The official Dakar logo as well as official Dakar wordmarks and trademarks must NOT be used for legal reasons (a general motorsport or desert look is fine, just no protected Dakar branding)
No pale or pastel colours
No cluttered or overloaded layouts where the logo and flavour name get lost
No designs that only work for a single flavour and do not fit the series
No designs that cannot be technically implemented in the drinkking.de configurator (see technical specs). Submissions that do not work there will not be considered

Technical specifications (mandatory, production runs via drinkking.de)

Can: 250ml SlimLine
Design area without ingredient text: 120 x 120 mm (H x W)
Full label incl. ingredients/mandatory info: 170 x 120 mm (H x W)
Resolution: 300 dpi
Colour mode: CMYK (4/0 or 5/0 print)
Keep space free for the deposit label (50 x 25 mm); this area must not be covered by important design elements
Please work exactly within the official drinkking.de layout template (available at drinkking.de/de/layoutvorlagen). Keep key elements (logo, flavour name) with a safe margin from the edges
The design must work as a PE film label (full-surface print possible)

Deliverables

Four final, print-ready files (one per flavour) in the correct layout template, CMYK, 300 dpi, with bleed
Open/editable source files (e.g. Adobe Illustrator AI or Photoshop PSD), fonts embedded or converted to outlines
Optional but appreciated: a 3D mockup preview per can

Instant recognisability of the flavour
Visibility and impact of the TimeOut Racing logo
Coolness and recognition in the style of strong energy brands
Consistency as one unified set of four
Technical feasibility in the drinkking.de configurator
