Web Design Brief

Our current website soundstore.co.nz is now 20 years old and needs a refresh. All our customers love the easy navigation style so we would like to keep a similar style of top navigation bar and the drop down Products, Categories, sub categories etc, menu on the left that stays there on all pages except the front page. For each category page the right hand pane is to have icons for the sub categories like our current site
So in essence all the same functionality and similar layout of the old website but just smartened up to make it look more modern.
We like the the darker blue background colours in the old website and would like it to have some kind of subtle audio/sound theme to it like the waveforms used in the old one.
We would like the main front landing page designed, plus the sub categories icons page including the style of left side category/sub category navigation. Plus some ideas for a product page.
Main front page to have similar components to current website. ie Content carousel, browse categories, brands, some specials/new products
If you've submitted a logo to our other design request then feel free to use that on this design as we’ve not chosen the winner from that yet. If you’ve not designed a logo then use our existing one

Requirements

Must have

• Product images on white background. Search engine field at top right always visible. Drop down left side navigation/filtering bar that is there all the time once off the main index page. Darker blue background. Top menu bar with tabs for Products (that drops down to categories), Special Offers, Brands, Discounts, About Us, Contact Us.

Nice to have

• A tech or audio feel to it, some subtle reference to audio waveforms in the backgroundmaybe
