8 Seconds Western Wear, a well-established 30-year retail presence in Fort St. John, British Columbia, is launching a new in-house apparel design initiative—and we’re looking for bold, creative designers to help shape it from the ground up.
This project, The Makin’ 8 Collection, is centered around authentic western culture, rodeo heritage, and the everyday grit of ranch life. Our goal is to build a recognizable, retail-ready apparel brand under the banner of 8S Rodeo Co., designed to resonate with working cowboys, rodeo athletes, outfitters, and anyone who lives or respects the western lifestyle.
We’re not looking for polished, corporate fashion—we want designs that feel real. Think dust, leather, sweat, and tradition. Designs should capture the raw energy of an 8-second ride, the pride of the brand, and the storytelling that comes with western living.
Creative direction includes (but is not limited to):
• Texas longhorn skulls, western typography, and branding irons
• Bucking horses, bulls, rodeo action scenes
• Wagons, ropes, saddles, and outfitter gear
• Ranch life visuals—early mornings, hard work, and open land
• Minimalist western marks (clean, strong logos) and bold statement graphics
• Vintage/worn aesthetics alongside clean modern western looks
Our core phrase “Makin’ 8” should be used as a central theme, but designers are encouraged to expand on it with their own interpretations and complementary taglines.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a growing western brand that will be sold directly in-store and potentially expanded beyond. We’re looking for designs that can translate well onto t-shirts, hoodies, hats, patches, and accessories.
