Tattoo Design Brief
I am seeking a fully re-imagined tattoo design for placement on the outer lower arm, extending down onto the back of the hand. A baseline reference image is included for inspiration only, not as a template. The final design should feel cohesive, intentional, and unified as a single concept.
Required Design Changes
1. Birth Icon Update:
* Replace the existing location icon next to Inglewood with a boy birth icon.
* The style should integrate naturally with the overall design (not an isolated symbol).
2. Primary Floral Element
* Replace the current flower, compass rose, and timepiece with a Colorado Blue Columbine (Aquilegia coerulea).
* The flower should be:
* Color
* Realistic
* A clear focal element
* Include the flower name in lowercase, written as: aquilegia coerulea (scientific notation)
* Text should be nearby but thoughtfully placed as part of the composition.
3. Central Concept Element (Location + Time)
* Replace the current butterfly in the middle with a morphed or abstracted fusion of a compass rose and timepiece.
* This element should:
* Suggest location and time, but not be literal
* Feel artistic, symbolic, and integrated
* Avoid obvious clock faces or traditional compass graphics
4. Secondary Fauna Element
* Add a Colorado Hairstreak butterfly (Hypaurotis crysalus) toward the lower portion, extending onto or toward the back of the hand.
* The butterfly should be:
* Color
* Realistic
* Slightly three-dimensional if appropriate
* It does not need to be flat or centered and may be placed more to the side.
* Include the butterfly name in lowercase, written as: hypaurotis crysalus (scientific notation), placed nearby and integrated into the flow.
Additional Design Constraint (Important)
* All existing timeline details must be preserved in their entirety.
* Every life event currently represented (birth, moves, marriage, children’s births, etc.) must remain included.
* No events should be removed, altered, or omitted.
* Layout and visual interpretation are flexible.
* You are encouraged to explore new layouts, flows, and compositional structures for the timeline.
* Events may be reorganized spatially, re-symbolized, or visually reinterpreted, as long as the full narrative continuity remains intact.
* The goal is to retain the complete story, while allowing for a stronger, more cohesive artistic expression across the arm and hand.
Important Guidance
I am not looking for a simple Photoshop or copy-and-paste treatment of new elements onto the existing design.
* The entire piece must be redesigned as one cohesive composition.
* You are encouraged to rework, reinterpret, or restructure the base design if it strengthens the overall concept.
* The final result should feel intentional, organic, and tattoo-ready, not a collage of separate ideas.
