Tattoo Design Brief

I’m looking to get a vertical stack of four detailed skulls, similar in realism and fine-line detail to traditional Mexican sugar-skull designs (not cartoonish). The skulls should be 4 tall, forming one cohesive, balanced composition.
Each skull should represent one member of KISS, using literal elements of their signature makeup blended with sugar-skull motifs. The makeup should be clearly recognizable but still integrated into decorative sugar-skull styling. I’m very open to artistic interpretation on how these motifs are incorporated.
Specific Skull Order (top to bottom):
Paul Stanley – The Starchild (top)
Ace Frehley – The Spaceman
Peter Criss – The Catman
Gene Simmons – The Demon (bottom)
Theme Elements for Each Skull:
Paul Stanley – The Starchild: stars, hearts, purple/black/red accents.
Ace Frehley – The Spaceman: space imagery, comets, lightning bolts; blue/silver/black accents.
Peter Criss – The Catman: feline/jungle motifs; green/silver/black accents.
Gene Simmons – The Demon: flames, demonic energy, and possibly a stylized long tongue worked into the design; red/black accents.
Overall Style Notes:
Fine-line, detailed, and ornamental, similar to traditional sugar-skull intricacy but with a darker, more realistic bone structure.
Not cartoonish; more refined and textural.
Cohesive flow down the stack while preserving each skull’s unique identity.
I’m allowing and encouraging significant artistic creativity and interpretation—composition, detailing, and styling are flexible based on your vision.
I’m happy to discuss placement, sizing, and any adjustments you think would make the design stronger. I want the piece to reflect your artistic style as much as the concept itself.
