Illustrated cover for unique non-fiction book (paperback & eBook)
Book Cover Design Brief
I know the image I want on my book covers (eBook and paperback) but I need you to come up with the style and treatment. I am a self-publisher and my book is about the human obsession with being better than animals, even though scientists keep telling us there’s no evidence to support it. To illustrate how illogical it is I want to show a see-saw. On the end that is down (left) sits a man, and on the end that is up (right) sits a whole bunch of large and small animals that should outweigh him but don’t. Birds on heads and shoulders etc. Title: 'Let's Talk About Human Supremacy'; author’s name: Alan Singlehurst. The style should be modern, uncluttered and probably not too realistic (I don’t want a cartoon style since the content of the book is pretty serious). No strong colour preferences at this stage, just needs to be eye-catching with good contrast. Perhaps a plain white background might work. Dimensions: 215 x 135mm, 374 pages, imprint: Hackworth Press. [NOTE: If you feel you could express this illogicality in a completely different way please feel free to submit a draft design.]
