Selfish ultra fresh seafood packaging designe
Packaging Design Brief
We are The Fishmarket Kft., Central Europe’s leading premium seafood processor. Our retail sub-brand SELFISH offers ultra-fresh, ready-to-cook seafood — quick, odor-free, and hassle-free. One of our products has already gained international recognition by winning the SIAL d’Or Global Award 2012.
We are now launching an international packaging redesign competition for the SELFISH product line. The new design should be youthful, premium, urban, and sustainable, while being competitive on international retail markets (Western Europe & US).
Important note: the SELFISH brand name and current logo are trademark-protected. However, we are open to a creative evolution of the logo if this contributes to a stronger overall packaging concept.
Packaging formats:
Skin pack: 230×144×22 mm (fillets)
MAP trays: 230×144×50 mm (fillets) and 340×144×50 mm (whole fish)
Base colors: black or blue
We expect 2–3 creative directions, consistently applied across all tray formats, with shelf-ready and webshop mockups. Final delivery should include print-ready vector files.
Core brand values: premium quality, sustainability, innovation, and modern lifestyle.
Concept: “quality seafood without the hassle.”
👉 The uploaded files include our brand guidelines and visual identity materials, which should serve as the basis and inspiration for your creative work.

Updates
The submission deadline for the Selfish product packaging design contest has been extended to September 2, 2025. The initial timeline was set automatically by the platform and proved to be too short. To ensure we receive a sufficient number of entries with the desired quality, we are allowing more time for designers to prepare and submit their work. Currently, the number of submitted designs is still modest, so we hope this extension will encourage broader participation.
