Logo Design Brief
I'm creating a website with engineers and architects as primary end users. The site will be selling training videos for a niche software package (eQuest). I want to be able to put the logo at the beginning of the videos, as well as at the top of the website.
The software is an energy modeling/simulation package created by the department of energy (DOE - http://www.doe2.com/equest/). It is used by building design teams to help make energy efficient choices.
My main goal is to communicate that the videos will be professional, and worth spending time with. Consulting engineer's time is very valuable, so I need to make sure they understand they're getting value for their investment.
I'm up for anything as long as I can use it to tie my videos and website together.
Updates
I'd like to emphasize (introduce?) the idea that this is a building energy tool. Although I mentioned heating and cooling, a building would be a better visual representation of the tool
I'm leaning more towards pictorial/combination logo's, although that doesn't mean a wordmark logo won't be selected. I'm working to update the brief, but I keep getting errors when I try to do so, which is why I'm posting an update.
Any remaining designers should stay with 2D and not 3D. Thanks everyone! Some great options!

Requirements
Must have
- Simple and clean.
Nice to have
- I'd like to somehow play off the fact that both the software name (eQuest) and product (eLearning) have a lower case "e" followed by an upper case "Q" and "L". Not a high priority, but may cool if you can make it work.
Should not have
- This software is not marketed towards electrical engineers, so please don't "electrify" it. Energy modeling is all about buildings, heating, cooling, and ventilation.
