Alaska Data Centers is using stranded natural gas on the North Slope of Alaska to generate electricity for hyperscale data centers. The CO2 from the natural gas generation is intended to be captured and stored underground to make the data centers "low carbon". The data centers will be connected via fiber optic cables to the rest of North America (and the world). The North Slope of Alaska is characterized by cold weather and remoteness.
