Logo Design Brief

We have a group of intellectually disabled individuals who have created a sports team to compete in various sports leagues for people with disabilities in our area. They want a team log to go on their various uniforms. As a team, they compete in softball, flag football, bowling, corn hole, and basketball, as well as other sports as our area expands the sports they offer. I have a sample that was created by several of the team members and drawn by one team member. We want to use the design created by the team members, but want it to be a professional looking logo. We would like to keep it as close to the original as possible, but we are open to creative design elements. We want the logo to be on a black background, like a patch, so that the design itself stands out on the various colored uniforms they wear. The colors in the logo can be changed to fit your designs. We would like the initials "SS" integrated somehow into the design subtly. That is the initials of the team name, Serenity Saints, as well as the initials of the person who drew the design, and we would love for him to see his initials to give him credit for drawing the design.
