The journey symbols cannot be substituted. Those all mean something specific pertaining to the race, so inserting something new totally negates that meaning. If you'd like to create something similar to that symbol, that has the same meaning, that's fine. But changing a tree to heart, or eyeglasses, or something random, doesn't make sense.

Additionally, don't worry about the fact that this is a running event. I prefer the pilgrim picture included to any of the "cartoony" running clip art. That image just needs to be made our own by tweaking it.
