Design Brief for Butterfly Network Logo

1. Company Overview
The Butterfly Network is a charity dedicated to guiding individuals on their journeys of transformation and self-discovery. With a warm and inclusive approach, our team, composed largely of mothers and dream interpreters, supports people from diverse backgrounds. We harness the power of unconditional love to foster positive change and healing, helping individuals explore the meanings of their dreams and embrace their true selves.

2. Target Audience
Our primary audience includes individuals seeking personal growth, healing, and a deeper understanding of their dreams such as those in the LGBTQ and new age communities.

3. Objectives
The logo should symbolize transformation, growth, and freedom, reflecting our mission of helping people embrace their authentic selves. It should evoke feelings of warmth, support, and inclusivity, making it approachable and inviting to all.

4. Brand Personality
The brand personality is nurturing, inspiring, and empowering. The logo should embody a sense of joy and celebration of life’s journey, reflecting both the beauty of transformation and the supportive community we foster.

5. Design Preferences
• Overall design: a symbol of a butterfly with the text “Butterfly Network”
• Colors: We don’t have a fixed idea on colours but could include greens, yellow or purple. The color palette should be vibrant and warm including soft pastels and nature-inspired hues, evoking feelings of growth and positivity. Do not use a rainbow or the full colours of the rainbow in the design. Please also provide a white version that can be used on a coloured background.
• Styles: A modern, organic design that incorporates elements of the butterfly motif. The logo should convey movement and transformation, perhaps through abstract or stylized butterfly shapes. Do not use any standard images of a butterfly from Canva. We want something original.
• Fonts: Easy to read. Perhaps italics but again we are not fixed on the font type.
• Orientation: please provide a design with the logo to the left of the Words “Butterfly Network” and also a design with the symbol above the Words “Butterfly Network”

6. Competitor Analysis
While we focus on dream interpretation and personal growth, competitors may include wellness organizations, life coaches, spiritual guidance services and the LGBTQ community organisations. Many utilize natural imagery and soft color palettes, so our logo should stand out by emphasizing the butterfly as a central theme of transformation and joy.
