Graphic Design Brief

I bought a fishing boat mostly for catching striped sea bass in Maine. I want to name my both stripes insinuating the stripes on striped bass as well as the stars and stripes of the US flag. I want the logo to be the United States flag not likely red white and blue...using the scaly stripes of the fish as the stripes of a flag. Some fish have breaks in there stripes that could resemble the waves in the flag. Maybe the flag could end narrowing down to a fishtail, narrowing because the flag's waving away from you. Adding the dorsal and pectoral find may be too much (might make it cheesy)...
