Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for shirts and hats to be worn by a group of golf friends in Texas, USA, called the "Slicers." In golf terminology a "slice" is an errant shot. We have plenty of errant shots because we are all so under-skilled, so "Slicers" became the nickname of our group! The final logo should have the team name, and play-off this fun bit of self-lampoon by using something that visually suggests 'slicing': such as steak knives, or katana swords or something creative? Whatever the slicing metaphor, there should be more than one used (plural) as this is a team. The logo could also include 1) a visual representation of our home in TEXAS -such as the state outline or state flag- and 2) any of the many common items associated with the game of golf - such as a golf ball, the different clubs, golf tees, flag-on-a-green, almost too many to name. Where this logo is to go on sports hats and shirts (like your favorite team), it is NOT an actual business nor professional company. Do not worry about offending any clients/customers because there are none! Where there is a lot of green in golf (and that's fine), we think our colors can include anything else that works creativity-wise.
