Logo Design Brief
We need a logo/wordmark for the new global parent organization of our local aerial fire protection services...
If you check-out AVAFF.org, you will get sense for type of aerial fire fighting organizations we are standing-up in various communities such as Napa, CA, Malibu, CA, Austin, TX and more to fight wildland fire with aviation assets. We have even been asked by Greece, Australia and more to provide such aerial fire protection services on a global level.
Therefore, we are creating the Wildland Fire Protection Project, as the umbrella or parent organization that will have multiple chapters underneath it.
As such, we are looking for a logo, where, the AVAFF mark and others like it (again for the aforementioned markets) can naturally live and "creatively fit" underneath the new parent, hierarchy wise.
I envision something that says global, green, protection, perhaps fire and rejuvenation?
This can obviously be done any number of ways, graphically, so I am going to offer a a few creative thoughts to help guide and direct what's in my minds eye, so to speak...
First, please, see the attached Dublin Airport logo that speaks to me. By nature the latitude and longitude effects say global, the basket nature of it says protection and the D within it stands for Dublin. I am wondering if we might do something similar using a W instead of a D in the same basic 3D format. Perhaps, two additional vertical lines could be added to the back of the logo and angled at the bottom to the existing standard to create the W???
Also, I like how the darker green portion of the image (in the foreground) as it faintly resembles a bird similar to how the the stars work in the BNP Paibas logo that I've included.
I have also included a graphical design image that shows color variations of red, orange and yellow across a mountainous tree/wildland landscape. Something like this could be used graphically either on the inside of the globe itself, on the outside or as background image that the logo sits on for a pitch deck and/or presentation?
Moreover, I am looking for something 3D in 3D graphically like the Apple Records logo, also attached, to help bring this new entity to life. The graphic of trees (mentioned above) on the logo might make the image itself resemble the detail found on the Apple logo?
I definitely like the idea of a gradient of yellow and orange shading to resemble fire on the inside of there globe and green on the outside to resemble protection and/or nature rejuvenation after a fire.
Maybe even imagine something that could ultimately live in 3D animation.
That being said, it also need to be corporate in nature, not amateurish. See the NewCorp logo as an example of corporate. And, whereby, the subchapters of AVAFF, NVAFF and other chapter logos can naturally co-exist with.
So, there's the brief. Have fun with it. Think outside the box with other ideas, as these are simply what I've had in mind, but I don't want to be pigeon-holed into my own thinking.
Lastly, as far as the word mark itself... Pick a font that you think measures/matches up. Then, visually, perhaps, it's the logo, followed horizontally by the word-mark for WildLand Fire with the words Protection Project smaller, thinner, maybe even in a traditional (Helvetica-like) font and in all caps underneath?
Thank you in advance for your creative efforts. Hopefully, your efforts will help play a part in saving forests, peoples homes, maybe even lives and help rejuvenate the lands where fire has left its mark.
