Logo Design Brief

I have a business that has been in business since the 70's and need to refresh and modernize the logo. I want the updated logo to be recognizable but look modern.
Superstuctures Inc has been supplying and erecting Varco Pruden steel buildings since the 70's. We have been operating in Alaska for all of that time but also have a dealership license in Guam. Our projects mainly consist of large steel commercial buildings and hangers.
I want the new logo to look similar to the original logo that people can still make the connection, but it needs to be recognizable as a modern steel erection company too.
