Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my new business called Focus Innovation. The business develops software solutions for the civil engineering and construction project management space, examples of similar (but larger) systems are Procore and Aconex. There are several software products in development, I want the logo to have different colors that can work as the icons for these applications. I have attached some images of ideas my daughter has helped me with to date, I like this design so it is a good place to start, but I know it could be refined or re-imagined. The ring around the O can be given different colors for icons as shown in another image.
I would like a fairly simple clean logo that can be used with different background colors without losing its power, I would like to see a black background and white background option. The outer border is optional.
