Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for a non-profit nature conservation nature organisation based in Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands called Coast to Bluff Recreational Access and Conservation or CBRAC.
Our mission is to protect the bluff and coastal forests of Cayman Brac and secure permanent public access rights to recreational areas along the bluff and coastline. We are doing this by creating nature parks that protect the beautiful and unique natural habitats of Cayman Brac. We envision an island of nature and humanity living in harmony with a deep connection to our natural heritage.
Please see our website https://www.cbrac.ky/ for photos and more details on the organisation.
We would like the logo to reflect the connection between humans and nature and possibly incorporate elements of our native species or landscapes. The logo should be simple so it can be reproduced at a small size, memorable, and iconic. It should be professional and can also be playful, but it should not be too cartoonish. The name CBRAC should be prominent and it can possibly incorporate the entire name as small letters (Coast to Bluff Recreational Access and Conservation), but this is not necessary.
The bluff, which is a large rugged cliff running along the island is the most iconic feature of the island of Cayman Brac. It is difficult to design in a simplified way so it isn't a necessary inclusion, but we recommend looking at images of "Cayman Brac Bluff" for an idea of what the island looks like.
Iconic local species that could inspire the design:
- Cayman Agave (Agave caymanensis)
- White-tailed tropicbird (Phaethon lepturus)
- Brown booby (Sula leucogaster)
- Sea grape (Coccoloba uvifera)
- Cayman Brac Parrot (Amazona leucocephala hesterna)
- Magnificent Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens)
- Caribbean Hermit Crab (Coenobita clypeatus)
- Cayman Silver Thatch (Coccothrinax proctorii)
- Consolea cactus (Consolea millspaughii)
We are open to any color palette as nature includes every colour. Obvious choices and green, blue, grey, and brown; but we are open to anything.
Attached are mockups of some ideas we had, but none are fully formed. We liked the logo with the tropicbird and agave, but we would prefer the tropicbird to be viewed from the top, possibly facing up, and less prominent. More like a subtle hidden feature rather than a prominent element. This is only one idea so please be creative and submit anything you think would represent our mission.
