Because we will be working with non-profit entities, we have to be able to use the logo without a firearm in the image.

If you are using a lettermark or pictoral element to the logo, they should be easily understood. I don't like logo's where you have to spend time trying to figure out what the image is.

The logo will be used in a variety of settings, from formal proposals to non-profits to hats that people would wear hiking in the woods as well as more traditional business stationary.

I have had a couple of submissions with a background behind the logo. The logo will be used on a variety of backgrounds and should not include on in the actual design. Please include at least one image with a solid white background so I can tell what is the logo, if you are going to also include version on top of backgrounds as examples.
