Logo Design Brief

We would like a clean modern looking logo. Must definitely be elegant and professional. Simpler more than detailed. Something new yet familiar. Helpful if conveyed the imagery "northern", science or engineering. We would like something more unique than the standard compass point, science related test tube, molecules, atom, etc. Perhaps a 3 colour palette. The short form anme for the company is NAPSCI.
