Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for the Audubon of Kansas, an organization that promotes appreciation and stewardship of natural ecosystems in Kansas and the central Great Plains. The logo must retain some form of the prairie chicken visual featured in the existing logo (attached), but does not have to include the entire bird — it could be just the head, or the bird in another position (e.g. flying). The logo will need to present well in both color and black and white. The logo in color should include the orange color from the existing logo. Because this an environmental conservation organization, the logo should look wild and free, not like a sports team mascot. The logo can include the words "Audubon of Kansas". The organization is often referred to as "AOK", so this may or may not be prominently featured depending on how it works in the design.
