Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo. We are a new Digital art Center with projection mapping art shows. We would like to use the 8 in our name as the main logo, with our name below. What we like about our current logo is that it feels like you're entering a tunnel of light or walking into our exhibit. The inclusion of a silhouette, like our current logo, is possible, but not necessary, however, the logo should have a sense of light being projected in some way. Our color theme is teal, black, and white. We do like some 3 dimensionalities to our logo, but versions that are appropriate for print, embroidery, and other applications should be included. This is an exhibit for all ages, so the logo should be accessible to all types of people! Be creative, have fun and we can't wait to see your exciting designs!

2/20 Update and comments on initial submissions:

Hey everyone! Thank you for all the wonderful submissions so far! We'll comment on everyone's submissions individually soon, but general thoughts so far are as follows:

1. Please make sure an "8" is included after "Lumen". It doesn't need to match the 8 of the logo, but some of the designs read like 8 Lumen. Lumen8 is one word and should feel like that. It's supposed to mimic the word"Luminate".

2. Some of the silhouettes are looking good, but we're leaning to the more non-gender-specific silhouettes. If it looks too "sexy", for lack of a better term, or too corporate stock image, it's not as appealing to us.

3. Please remember the silhouette is not 100% necessary and if included, it should not obscure the "8" beyond recognition. Some of the logos feel like the person is blocking the "8". We do like some of the ones without silhouettes too.

4. We realize it's a difficult line to tread, but the designs we're liking the best so far are the ones that are creative and playful, but not too busy. A nice balance between inspiring and clean is what we're looking for.

So far we're very impressed and looking forward to seeing what other amazing designs are submitted over the next few days!

Requirements

Must have

• A creative "8" as a standalone logo with the words Lumen8 that can be added to it. It should feel like walking into a tunnel of light or that light is projecting in some way.

Nice to have

• I can have a silhouette of a person incorporated, but not necessary. Silhouettes should not be too "sexy" or "corporate". This is a fun, family-friendly but creative art installation and the logo should reflect that.

Should not have

• This is a creative venue and the logo should reflect that, so nothing too corporate or stale is as appealing to us.
