Logo Design Brief
We are looking for a replacement for our old dated logo. To work across all properties: Physical signage, Clothing, Vehicle livery, Business Cards, Digital, and Print.
Main Text: ‘Shawfield Timber’
Optional Subtext: ‘Trade & DIY’
Style guide included for the current logo/brand. We would prefer to keep the brand colours.
Primary: #2E318E and #FEE800 (#1FA9E1 is optional) but are open to suggestions.
The logo would mainly be featured on a white background (All company vehicles/trucks and the product packaging is white). However, we do use the dark blue (#2E318E) as an alt background and the company uniform is dark blue.
The introduction of a symbol/icon incorporated into the logotype would work. Giving us a solid identity and an icon that could work standalone and on the mobile-friendly website. Extending our branding opportunities.
The company: Shawfield Timber: Based in Glasgow Scotland, with UK wide delivery. We deal in a full range of timber and composite products. Our main product lines are; Decking, fencing, doors, flooring, stair parts, and joinery materials.
We encourage customers to discuss their projects with us. And offer a full range of cutting services.
We deal with business to business, are open to the trade and the public. This presents the challenge of conveying both a professional image for B2B / Trade with a friendly and welcoming image for DIY customers.
We are going through a website rebuild, but you can check out the old website at shawfieldtimber.co.uk for more details.

Requirements
Must have
- Icon/symbol to accompany the text, that will with the text or standalone.
Should not have
- Saw blades - Unless it can be subtly incorporated then it can either come across as too aggressive or as a forestry company (we don’t cut down the trees).
While the S&T combined to form an icon is great. Some of the designs are coming across as more suitable for a medical based company (With the S & T forming a caduceus symbol).
