We are launching a software as a service (SaaS) company named Firefly Energy Solutions. It is a software and analytical platform solution geared towards the energy space, in particular providers and consumers of electricity and natural gas. It helps companies manage the risks of buying and selling energy, avoid errors in calculations of their costs, and provide better insight into the characteristics of the consumers of the energy and how they can be better served. We are data and mathematically centric, solving an efficiency problem. Efficiency is key to us.
The company name is firefly because a firefly bug produces the most efficient form of energy (that produces almost zero heat and therefore no waste from energy to light). We want the firefly to be the central point of the logo. We want something modern and catchy to the eye, but also very clean (think of Apple, Nike - the logo is simple and no words are needed).
Target Market(s)
Energy Retailers, Energy Generators, Financial Institutions, Large End Users of energy

Logo Text
Firefly is the main word we want. Energy Solutions is secondary, with smaller font and probably not even on the same line but below Firefly. The main part of the logo will be the actual firefly bug.

Requirements
Must have
- A firefly bug as part of the logo. I have noticed that people do that take that too literal. I do not want to see a bug per se. I want to see a design (think of apple, you dont' see an apple, but a shape of an apple bitten - forbidden but clean - get it?)
Nice to have
- Tones of blues, but open to some color creativity
Should not have
- Lots of mixed color, busy design with lots of lines
