Logo Design Brief
The Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association was founded in 1898, and would like to design a new logo. The association represents a wide variety of companies who produce forest products, from the small tree farmers and loggers all the way up to Fortune 500 furniture and cabinet companies, and everything in between. Hardwoods are Indiana's largest agricultural industry, in terms of jobs, and economic impact. We pride ourselves on being good stewards of the forests, and ensuring that our forests remain healthy and sustainable while producing the vital products everyone needs. We'd like to incorporate a logo change with an organizational name change, likely Indiana Hardwood Association. Here's a catch, though: Although our name says Indiana, we have members in 35 states and 4 Canadian provinces, so perhaps the logo could subtly reflect our national and international membership while still emphasizing Indiana? Finally, it is important to reflect the positive environmental and economic (jobs) benefits of wood, and de-emphazising mental images of cutting trees.
