Logo Design Brief

My blog will focus on making a connection with wild Florida, it’s wildlife, plants and animals... with an eye toward Florida conservation, nature adventure trips, and education... Content, photos and other merchandise will also be offered for sale.
I’m looking for a logo that incorporates Florida nature and wildlife/plants, with a fun “Old Florida” retro-adventure feel.
When they see this logo it should speak to the import of natural Florida and the critical nature of the ecosystem here... while being instantly recognizable and iconic.

I’ve included a previous logo we selected for a prior business just for general reference... it doesn’t need to look like this but it gives one a general feel of what we have selected in the past.
