Logo Design Brief
We buy homes from people who need to sell quickly for whatever reason. Facing foreclosure, lost a job, divorce, death, bad tenants, moving for work, etc.
Design should communicate simplicity, ease, safety, stability. We are striking a fine balance. On the one hand, we need to build authority and credibility with the seller that we are professional and capable of helping them with their situation by closing the deal. On the other, we want to be personal and approachable. We do not want to come off as cold, rich businessmen out to take advantage of people. We deal with homeowners in distress and the brand needs to be approachable to people in their darkest hour. Lost their job, can't pay their bills, creditors calling, medical bills piled up. Some will be elderly. So the brand needs to be friendly and approachable and indicate a solid, secure clean solution. What we seek to provide is quick relief from a stressful situation.
So you can get an idea of what the website will look like here is a link:

This is a template site but I have not yet started customizing imagery or website colors so ignore those.

Thoughts and ideas:
I haven't decided on a theme, colors or a logo so let your imagination run wild. That said, these are some things that I like so you have an idea where to start.
The website says it can accommodate a .gif logo so some animation could be cool to attract more attention. The animation would just need to end or begin in an image that could be used statically on business cards etc.
An emblem logo could be cool. Company name and tag line arranged into an emlem that serves as a logo. Example attached. Note that this Vancouver North Shore logo is a little playful and could help make a seller in distress a little more comfortable.
I also like thin line logos. Clean and modern. Could be a little too cold to make sellers comfortable but I like them. Examples attached.
On the web and mobile, I like gradients especially that indicate sunrise on water such as the RPM logo attached.
Although they are not necessarily my personal favorite, a cartoon logo, perhaps animated, could create a very friendly aesthetic that is invited to stressed out sellers. Perhaps lifting a heavy house off someones shoulders? I also happen to love mountains, waves, ravens, and golden retrievers. Let your imagination run.
