Logo Design Brief

I'm looking to have a simple logo designed for my business Peacock Consulting Pty Ltd. The business is a technology consulting business that will operate from when I retire from my present job in the next few months. I concentrate on developing collaborations, particularly between business and universities. I'm involved in several Directorships and start-ups and would like to link or feature them. I don't want to over emphasize the "Peacock" (huge tails etc) but it is my surname and it might make sense to use it in some way. Is it possible to make a logo look like I'm into innovation?
