I need a fresh logo for my company, North Texas Vinyl, which is a vintage record shop where I sell new and used vinyl records. It should be retro/vintage, but also a bit modern, and super clean. Nothing grungy or textured. A nice flat design that will print well kin my chosen color scheme, but also in black/white when needed.
I've been a graphic designer for years, so I have a good eye - but, I'd like an outside perspective this time around. Looking for a fresh take from somebody who doesn't live and breathe the business as I do.
I've uploaded some very rough ideas I was playing around with. Wasn't getting where I wanted with fonts or layout. But it represents a rough direction of what I was thinking.

Requirements
Must have
- A cool, retro, or vintage vibe. Think ROCK N ROLL. Look at the logos from famous bands like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, etc. for inspiration. I'd like to launch this on July 4th, so a red/white/blue vibe is essential. Must be highly readable when printed on signage, shirts, stickers and online.
Nice to have
- It would be ideal if the letters "NTX" can be broken out from the core design as an alternate abbreviated design...in certain places.
Should not have
- Should not have too much detail. It must be able to be viewed at very small sizes for social media icons, etc.
