Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a professional logo design for an investment management firm. We are a hedge fund that trades public equities. We've developed a unique strategy for selecting and buying the stock of top-performing companies and driving above-market returns.

We are sorry, but we will not respond to any messages such as "I just submitted my design, please give me feedback" - that will just waste your time and ours. Additionally, we will not have time to provide feedback on every design submission. If we feel your design submission does not meet our minimum standard of quality, we will eliminate it without comment or feedback. Feel free to submit additional designs. We will communicate fully with the 3 - 5 finalists and work with them to get an overall winner.

Requirements

Must have

• Please only post one full-color logo on a white background of each design submission.
  
  The design of the logo avatar should be distinctive and work well in a round or square avatar design. "Alpha" means investment returns that are "above the market average". "Alta" is Latin and means "high". The full meaning of the name is "high, above-market investment returns" as our goal is to produce more "Alpha" than other hedge funds or at least be in the top decile of performance.
  
  We would like the following files from the winner:
  
  The full logo vertically (logo element on top) in the following formats that are trimmed tightly around the logo:
  o Full color, Hi-res, PNG
  o Full color, EPS vector file
  o B&W, Hi-res, PNG
  o B&W, EPS vector file
  o White (reversed), Hi-res, PNG
  
  The full logo horizontally (logo element to the left) in the following formats that are trimmed tightly around the logo:
  o Full color, Hi-res, PNG

Nice to have

• The "Capital Management" part of the name does not have to be included in to logo design. The URL is www.AlphaAlta.com.
  
  It will probably be best to use different boldness or different colors for the two words "Alpha" and "Alta" to properly distinguish them.
  
  Please spend sufficient time on the fonts - we would like modern fonts and never Times New Roman

Should not have

• The two words need to either remain separate or be shown in a way that it is clear to everyone that the URL is AlphaAlta.com and not Alphalta.com
  
  Please only post one full-color logo on a white background of each design submission. Please do not post multiple versions of the same design on different backgrounds. That only clutters our inbox. We will just eliminate redundant submissions.
  
  Please submit a flat design without any 3D or shadow or shine to the colors.
  
  I don't like "swooshes" in logo designs - way overdone. But if you feel you just have to add a swoosh, at least have it go up and to the right to signify an increase or growth in investment returns.
