Logo Design Brief

I would like a logo for my new company, which will design and manufacture high-end pocket knives.

I would like it all to be black & white, with the graphic as line art, as I would like to use the logo (without any text) on the knife itself (probably etch it into the steel).

I am open to different graphic designs. The company name (Fenian Range) refers to the range of mountains behind our home; it would be great if the logo graphic could represent this.
For example could the logo be: a mountain or hills, or forest, or wild deer or Chamois, or even the (extinct) giant Haast eagle, or a Moa?
Could some kind of simple topographic map be incorporated as well (or instead of) the above (if it works)?

[I have attached a crude attempt at a logo for an example, a photo of the forest & hills in question, a topographic map of the hills, and an image of the Eagle & Moa].

I am imagining the company name ('FENIAN RANGE') to have a bold minimalist font; and my name ('by Nathan Young') to be in a signature style and smaller with less of a focus (but of course, whatever works...).

The design should communicate strength and perhaps something primal.

Target Market(s)

Affluent males, who like to carry high-quality tools and gadgets (including pocket knives) in order to be 'prepared' while at the office or commuting, or out in nature. They like unique and high quality products and are prepared to pay a bit more for it over something mass-produced.
