Book Cover Design Brief
We need a cover design for our printed home buying booklet. Right now our working title is "D.C. Region Real Estate's Essential Guide for Smart Buyers". The book guides readers through the homebuying process. The inside of the book is text, real images of homes, rooms, and probably some exterior shots of the Washington, D.C. area. We have a little professor cartoon icon we got from Depositphotos.com that we are using inside the book when we have an important point to me made within the text. Think of how books for dummies have that target with a dart on the bullseye. (We've attached an example of the icon.) We'd like the cover to be graphics that help illustrate the feeling of "smart" "intelligent" but not stuffy, since we do have a slightly cartoonish feel in parts of the inside with the professor icon. So we'd like to include real images of nice parts of a house--living room, kitchen, bathroom, but also a graphic aspect that's not real images. WE'RE OPEN TO OTHER IDEAS! but we just had those thoughts. We want to primarily get across to readers that they are smart--or we can help them be smart--about buying real estate, and this is the guide for them, and we can help them get a nice home.We have an account with depositphotos.com and have license to use the attached photos and icon. After seeing some samples, we like the idea of the professor icon on the cover. We might have additional photos, please use depositphotos.com and we can download then forward licensed images, so long as their not "editorial only" images. Also, Please include "By Angela Logomasini and Christopher Prawdzik somewhere on the cover. Does not have to be prominent but must be there.
The dimensions of the book is is 5.5 inches wide and 8.5 inches long. We would like it to bleed off in all directions.
