Logo Design Brief
I am looking for a logo design for my new company, a petroleum engineering consulting service. The company name is "Silver Aspen Engineering LLC". I am thinking about a slogan of "petroleum reservoirs revealed." My location is Denver, Colorado, USA, which partly explains the name, but also it is named after my two cats. The business will be providing reservoir engineering services both locally and world-wide (we hope). Our specific services are descriptive analytics and development plans for oil and gas fields and the related computer modeling studies. These studies describe the interaction of subsurface geologic rock formations and hydrocarbon systems with oil and gas wells drilled to extract the associated oil and gas, which has been my specialty for 25 years in the corporate world. I could be happy with an abstract logo, something as simple as an Aspen grove or leaf, or ideally something that communicates the service. This is a challenge, as almost every oil and gas company seems to incorporate an oil drop or a flame and that type of design would have difficulty standing out.

- attached is a logo that I adapted and paid for from the BrandCrowd site, for inspiration about my preferred style. I like that it incorporates oil and water drops (allusion to the underground system that we study and analyze with our services). Also I like incorporating a tree leaf to allude to the company name. This generic leaf is not the shape of an Aspen tree leaf, but you get the idea. I am not so sure about the use of an oil drop just because it seems very common in my industry.
