Logo Design Brief
The company is named Forgeables and specializes in building component kits for popular books - mainly electronic but we'll be doing other types as well. All of our kits are completed with high quality, tested components. Our kits include not only the components required to complete the projects in the book but also (optionally) can include integrated storage options too. We offer component boxes that have multiple compartments on the low-end and assorted sizes of enclosed, static free containers that link together to form various customized storage options on the high-end.
We'd like the logo to include books and electrical components as well as possibly some tools (soldering iron for example) and hardware (screws, nuts, bolts, etc). We are open to other ideas if you are confident it tells the story. To the extent possible we would also like the idea of Forging be included - books+components when forged together through projects create cool things! I played around making the components alive by turning them into cartoons - not sure I liked it but I'm not a good artist either.
The target market is makers, hackers, geeks and nerds. We'll be selling at the Makers Faire's, the hackspaces and makerspaces as well as other related shows, conferences and events. We are doing a lot with the Arduino and various other microcontrollers so including them would be great too...
I'll need vector graphics so I can use in various applications - stretching and shrinking will be important...
Updates
Hi Everyone. Thanks so much for your Forgeables design submissions. We have gone through all of them and have made a decision. I was surprised by how difficult you all made that decision - there were some absolutely wonderful designs. That said, we had to pick one. Thank you all again for your submissions and have a great upcoming weekend.
