Logo Design Brief

Cloud Notation offers professional, very high quality and innovative solutions for projects deployed to the cloud. This will include websites, web applications as well as consulting on anything web & cloud related. The company is a London startup. We aim for high trust and adding that little extra to delight the client.

The "Cloud" in the name of the company stands for distributed, modern and elastic computer platform which drives increasingly large portion of the internet.

The "Notation" stands for specialised form of language used to describe concepts specific to the field (here the Internet/web/cloud) as in scientific notation (or even musical notation).

There should be no music related elements (although I love music). The logo is for a web programming company writing code using special notation (programming languages). Please read the brief and disregard the part where I am explaining the word "notation" bringing the eventual musical notation as a metaphor.

I have received few very interesting designs and am hoping to receive lots more. Everyone should have received my feedback (or they will receive theirs shortly).


Seeing all the good ideas so far I would like to mention that although I have no problem with the shape of a cloud I do not think that featuring it in the logo just because the word "cloud" is part of the company name is reasonable. If it is part of the message then great but if you don't have an idea for the graphical element then falling back to the cloud renders mixed results.

Just to inspire (by NO means should you feel obligated to use any of the below!):
 
The cloud is a also a dense collection of loosely connected (decoupled) components just like the Internet.

The notation in practise (this case) means using things like:

$word->otherword
!word (exclamation means NOT)

functionName(optional parameters)
CloudNotation(new Idea) meaning execute CloudNotation on "new Idea"
cloud_notation()
cloudNotation()

I doubt any of the above can be used to create great looking clean and modern logo but if you know how... well I will be impressed. 

All of the original suggestions in the brief stand.
