Its for Dads - so please try and make this appeal to Dad
Its for overweight men
Its a Dojo - i.e. a training school for Dads to lose weight and progress. think Karate school.

I will be launching a site to support and help Overweight Dads lose the fat. Target market is Dads 30 years + in North America, Europe.
The audience is probably well overweight but struggle to find the time due to the challenges of a demanding job and family.

The site will be a no nonsense holistic approach on how to change your lifestyle through walking/Running/Crossfit and adopting the Paleo diet. I am a 42 year old with 4 children under 7, with a demanding job in IT sales working for a global corporate. I will share my journey as a blog initially but have the intention to turn this into a business via a membership site / coaching.


I want this to be a fun yet educational but slightly tongue in cheek. Cartoon style is fine, bold and fresh. I expect a large number of users to be viewing this on their iPads or other mobile devices so please bare this in mind.

I do not want this looking like the conventional Personal Trainer web site. This looks too clinical. I am not in perfect shape myself but have proven my methods work, I am still on the journey, so want this site to be something my audience can identify with - ie I am not much different then them.

Summary
I am accepting designs concepts for my personal blog and web presence – http://www.FatDadDojo. The Blog, subtitled “Mind and Body Rehab for Dads”, will provide a platform upon which I wish to build a personal brand and market myself ultimately as a 1:many coach.

The successful design will balance an professional design with a bit of humour and be attractive to a male audience. The theme MUST match the concept of a oriental martial arts school. Use of Japanese imagery such as Pagodas,Zen, Bushido and Samurai is encouraged. The Web Header (Standard Header) MUST include the title and sub title and include graphics to depict a Dojo. I am open to the style and colors to be used but again please look for influences from the Far East

Technical Requirements
The design must be implementable in WordPress using “Standard Theme” Customizations to Standard Theme are allowed, but should not be extraordinary.

The design must be implementable using clean and standard html/css techniques.

The design must include a standard header that uses the Title and subtitle as discussed above. This is the key element of the design and should be your prime focus.

The design must include placeholders for advertisements on each page. Banner ad horizontal. Banner ad tower in the right .

The design must include a standard site template/shell and at least 3 internal page designs.

Designs should be submitted for (at minimum) the following pages
Home
About
Video Blog – a video surrounded by
Podcast
Primary Navigation / Pages

The Home page should include an area for Email Optin in the top right corner.
The About Page to also include the Email Optin
Each blog post should contain social actions – the ability to tweet, share, etc. . .with the click of a button.

In addition to the core content, the home page should provide a brief introduction and video.

Standard Page template to include
. This page will serve as a template for all other “standard” pages. Please include the basic elements for a website in this page. These should include:
• A minimum of 3 Headings - H1, H2, and H3
• A bulleted list
• A numbered list
• A table
• An image
• A call to action (typically an image/button)
