Logo Design Brief

This is a logo for my company that manufactures surfboards. Typically a surfboard builder doesn't have a big brand logo all over the boards but we do have a small 1-2 inch logo on the bottom/tail of the board that shows which factory or shop built the board. So, I am looking for a very basic, non-flashy , clean logo to put on the boards I build. I am located in Waialua, Hawaii. This area has a bird of significance called the "iwa" bird, or frigate, that I was thinking of incorporating into The logo. When the bird dives, it's silhouette is in the shape of an "M" that could maybe be used as a symbol along with the script. The bird is not an absolutely necessary but just an idea I had. I'm attaching a few photos of other company logos within this industry. I'm also attaching a photo of a tattoo of an iwa bird silhouette just to show the basic simple look I'm leaning towards. I'm not exactly sure what I want other than just a clean, basic, modern design, so I'm looking forward to the freedom and creativity that you would like to add.Thank you.
