Logo Design Brief
PCM Insurance Agency is an agency started by two men of African descent committed to transforming wealth-building in communities of color and ethnicity. “PCM” stands for “pax cordial et mentium”, which means “peace of heart and mind”. Our objective is provide communities previously neglected the peace of heart and mind that our insurance products will provide.
We are looking for a compelling, memorable and culturally inclusive logo for our new insurance agency that serves everyone and is targeting medical and nursing professionals of color and ethnicity. Our logo should be charismatic and unique, yet strong and impressionable. The logo will be used on all of our branding materials—business cards, pens, memo pads, and eventually a website. The colors should connote protection and caring, since we are protecting America’s “most valuable protectors”—doctors and nurses. We are very proud of what these individuals do for our society: their dedication to keeping us healthy and productive; their commitment to keeping families together; their celebration and respect for the sanctity of life.
We are also secondarily targeting a predominantly African-American/People of Color/Ethnicity group, we seek images that are sensitive and inviting—instilling trust and warmth, as though the logo connotes friendship and guidance. Traditionally, large institutions have intimidated this population, preventing them from celebrating many of the same benefits from insurance that their Caucasian counterparts have enjoyed. So we are seeking a logo that is modern and progressive.
Lastly, we would like something that is emblematic. We see ourselves as a disruptor of the status quo. The services we provide add value to a previously neglected community. We are transforming the conversation around protection, insurance, wealth-building and legacy-building. There is an elegance to our strategy and a unique boutique feel to the care our clients receive. Any logo would do well to embody our disruptive boutique style that really makes a difference for the people we serve.
