Logo Design Brief

We want to put the logo onto a flag from www.northstarflags.com but want it to have some color other than simple black or simple green. It will be on an off white background and we want it to be green but I was hoping for some shading and perhaps use of black to reinforce the trailer lines. I'm no artist so I don't see what you see but I know what it's supposed to look like when it's done correctly if that makes sense.
1) Convert the existing B&W logo so it can float on top of another image and not block it out with white. That has been a problem to date.
2) Shade or color the logo somehow so it looks interesting and not all washed out when screened or printed on an off-white shirt or flag. We print the logo in white on a green sweatshirt but it gets lost so the shading would go both ways I guess.
3) Special version for a pride flag. If it just floats over the base flag then it would get lost but if it's block white over the flag it looks wrong.
