Logo Design Brief

I am after a new electrical/electrician logo for my business. I deal with all aspects of domestic, commercial and industrial electrical and I want the logo to be bold and easy to read but possibly incorporating the on/off symbol,and/or a power plug or electricity lightning bolt. I will be using the logo on all advertising material including my vehicle etc. I am interested in testing different colour combinations including Deep red/black/white and charcoal on a white background. Blue/white and charcoal on a white background and Burnt orange/black/white and charcoal on a white background. I am happy for any other creative ideas outside of this scope too as I want to be open minded about this design. The attached file was an abstract concept I liked, but the colours etc were not striking. All ideas welcome.
