Unfortunately just noticed this contest. Wish I could submit my design within 24 hours.

by Project Owner on Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Please still submit if you can, most of the designs I saw were :
1) Just taking the nav tree from old site and replicating with a bunch of smaller thumbnails, no new real design approaches.
2) I want the new site to be less about the deisgn of the old one and more about me that is covered in design prospectus.

I appreciate your response but I noticed your message just now and only 6 hours left before closing for new submission. I believe I will be able to submit a good effective concept but only if you can kindly consider to extend this just for 24 hours please. Thank you.

How do I extend the timeline/time frame?

by Project Owner on Thursday, April 18, 2019

I did not like any of the designs, I updated the creative brief a bit and am happy to discuss/iterate more to get to a design that I like.

Ok the timeline is extended.

Please read the prospectus.

The site should be centered around me and showcasing the media of what i enjoy doing.

1) Photography : this is mostly int he context of outdoor activities, but I take a lot of photos at work and enjoy doing portraits as well.

2) Outside : hiking ,trail running, ultra running, mountaineering, climbing

3) work : I do work, and I take a lot of photos at work, and make videos of traveling at work

4) family : i have a family, I love my family

Then there is the historical nature of the website. That stuff needs to live on. That stuff is built around the existing navigation. I don't feel the need for the existing navigation to continue at all. Just the historical stuff needs to be linked off of somewhere.

Navigation does need to exist but doesn't have to be the main left or top nav the way it is now.

Thanks
mbg

Any reference website for inspiration?

by Project Owner on Tuesday, April 23, 2019

See : www dot honestlines dot com

and wasaindustries dot com

I like the hero image
I like the draw people in with an image/story/moving-video

I want the historical navigation to be there but not be front and center.
