Graphic Design Brief

I want a design based off of one piece anime show which my brother loves. The pirate logo design should be in the one piece style and represent qualities of each person and combined to communicate the creation of a new family -- he is an active guy: spearfisher, surfer, built a greenhouse to grow peppers so he can make his own hotsauce. She is a designer who has a penchant for miyazaki films (she has a tatoo of chihiru from spirited away on her arm). He proposed to her in japan outside of the studio ghibli under the cherry blossom trees. This should be on a black background, and some symbols that i can see being included -- spearfishing gun (possibly as crossbones of skull), blond surfer hair on the skull, necklace around skull with a miyazaki character (totoro, coal sprites, etc), cherry blossoms. I've attached one piece flags for reference and picture of the couple.
