'Tales of the Orient' sell unique, handmade artefacts, curios, gifts and handicrafts that have been discovered through our travels across South East Asia. Many of the items we source are from China (typically made using ancient, traditional production methods) and are handcrafted. This means that each item is unique, of the finest quality and therefore, premium priced.A large part of our business is ‘telling the story’ of each artefact. We try to capture in words and pictures the history, people and places that make-up the tale of the cup, vase, teapot, statue, or jewellery that we sell. The logo design should try to encapsulate these elements. Perhaps some useful keywords to aid in the brief might be:* Traditional (but with contemporary twist)* Oriental* Chinese* Clean* Precision* Travel* Exotic* Ancient* Handmade/craftsmanship* Elegance* PremiumStyle: We’re not too precious about this, but we like the idea of a contemporary take on a traditional theme. So, for example - using a Chinese character with a heavily stylised brush stroke, leading into sans serif font. Our initial thoughts was simple black or charcoal grey on white. The new website design will use lots of white space and want this logo to sing ‘quality’. There are some beautiful Chinese characters that might be appropriate to use in the design, such as 美 - this means beautiful. Or perhaps ‘难’ which means rare/difficult to achieve.Usage: The logo will mainly be used online on a web shop, but will also be used on invoices, letterheads etc. We do not anticipate using the logo on clothing, banners or too many physical assets. The supporting images are just other ideas we've seen on the web that have caught our eye and might help the brief - BTW, we are already aware that one is a brand of feminine hygiene products... incase someone else reads Chinese!
