Logo Design Brief

We need an identity that can translate to web, door drop flyers and cards shared by local shops. The service we provide is warm and friendly, aiming to rebuild and re-use parts rather than simply throw-away and replace. We want to encourage use of your (old) bike so appealing to families and those who are budget conscious is key. We are not high-end and elitist. Word of mouth within the local community will be incredibly important so the identity needs to suggest some intrigue and an antidote to the high-end image that cycling can sometimes suggest.

Target Market(s)

Westerham is a small town of 4000 people, with 2 towns of 10,000 people within a 5 mile drive. Targeting the local community offering free collection and delivery of your bike. Personal service is key. My wife is the local hairdresser so key to building awareness and trust. So it will be (1) families who have low-mid range bikes that need servicing repairs (2) Christmas or birthday bikes that need building (3) people who reject the elitist nature of high end cycling! (4) I mountain bike 4 times per week, so will aim for a specialist service for mountain bikes (5) custom of unique bike builds where the personal relationship with the mechanic is key

Must have
  • Clarity of product offering.
  • Reassurance and intrigue by using the local aspect. My 2 spaniels are well known in Westerham and can be considered to be included.
  • Warmth and friendliness - build empathy and desire to use me because I'm local, contributing to the community, re-using and repairing rather than wasting and replacing.
  • Inclusivity - I will work on a kids' bike that cost £50 or a mountain bike at £1000 or a road bike at £3000, new and old bikes welcome.
Nice to have
  • No nice to haves. Be focused. Fewer messages the better!
Should not have
  • Elitist, unapproachable.
  • Exclusive - the image and also the type of bike.
