Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new retail store in Hawaii. The name of the store is "Kokua Korner Mart". Kokua is a Hawaiian word which means "the spirit of kindness accompanied by the desire to help one another". The store is a neighborhood convenience store, similar to a 7-11, but a portion of all proceeds will go to charity. The logo will be used for signage and flyers. A Hawaiian theme or feel would be great and the design should convey the "kokua" mindset. We prefer a clean, new, and modern logo...think the opposite of Waikiki tourist or cheesy 70's Hawaiian imagery.
