Logo Design Brief

Modernize logo using "key" element from previous design so brand equity isn't completely lost. Colors are currently black and gold. Would like to go with dark rich midnight blue or blue gray and different gold. Would like to modernize and incorporate "Key" element. Maybe use key as the letter F in First? Open to ideas. Please ask questions!
