Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a recently formed exploration and production company (oil and gas industry). We have an existing logo that is very bland, way too plain. We want a logo that conveys oil and gas, data analytics, and maturity. Essentially, we're a company that takes energy assets that aren't as sexy (out of favor in the market) and attempts to make them better through hard work and advanced data analytics. I've attached the current logo to this project.
