Logo Design Brief

"What The Flow" will be a software for productivity, (self) leadership and (self) management. It is based on the well known method "Getting Things Done®" by David Allen, also known as "GTD®". It is also based on "7 Habits for Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey.

When designing the logo, try to have in mind what the software achieves: Overall, it generates "flow" and allows to be productive without having negative stress.

How does this work?

With respect to self leadership it makes you define your life purpose(s), your principles, your visions and your goals. It helps you to know whether what you actually do every day is in conformity with these perspectives.

On the level of projects and goals it helps you to get more done, having to cope with less or even no negative stress any longer. Once successfully applied, "What The Flow" brings you in a state of mind and being, which is called "being in the zone" by athletes, a "mind like water" like it is called in zen buddhism.

Additionally it provides great possibilities for collaboration, which make it easier and better - also reaching a state which can be described with "flow".

Learning the methods, getting habituated to them, learning to use the software efficiently is intelligently facilitated by both the software itself and by a network of human coaches, whose coaching is supported by the design of the software.

You know the exclamation "What the...?" - it is often also used in positive situations, when they are linked with a sufficiently big surprise. In this case being surprised about how easy it is to use the software, how much guidance there is and how much fun it is to work with it, beginning with minute 1 of usage. Productivity sharply increases, also self leadership and compliance with what is really you increases. When realizing all this, the user regularly exclaims "What the ... Flow!".

**SOME IMPORTANT NOTES**

Normally, I do design work myself. Currently I do not have the required time for it - but I need the logo. I do also not have the time to manage a design project here in the way I normally would, so my feedback in some cases may consist only of a star rating or elimination of a submission.

Thus, some "rules of engagement":
1) Make sure that you fully read and comprehend the brief, that you get the "spirit" of the project. If you're not sure, please ask and include a short summary of your understanding.
2) It should not be necessary to mention it, however my experience here makes me writing it: Please only submit professional work in conformity with the brief - professional means an original idea, artistically or at least aesthetically appealing. Don't waste both our time with putting "WHAT THE FLOW" into standard templates.
3) What counts for the first submission is your approach, your idea. The first submission does not have to be technically perfect, so from a technical point of view feel free to apply the "pareto principle": that with 20% of the effort you can achieve 80% of the result. We'll take care of the other percentage points later.
4) Attached you find some indications for text arrangement from other projects of the initiative - just to show you how different the approaches can be.

Requirements
Must have
  • "What The Flow" is one of more, interrelated projects, being part of one big initiative. While the logo graphics of the projects are different and visually express their core ideas, the logo texts are very similar, so that the projects belonging to one "project family" immediately gets clear when one sees the different logos next to each other.
  • Font: Please use "Berlin Sans FB Demi".
  • Text color: #001a1a
  • Text arrangement: Text should be all caps. Feel free to arrange the three words as you see fit - all in one line, one or two smaller and placed somewhere else, different font sizes within one word, whatever; just make sure that "FLOW" is not less emphasized than the other two words.
