Infographic Design Brief

The purpose in having this infographic is to educate our customers on how interactive theatre works.

Theatre attendees usually watch theatre and the characters never act as though they know there is an audience present. This is known as the fourth wall. With interactive theatre there is no fourth wall. The audience is written into the narrative of the story. The actors still perform scenes in a script but may require the audience to help solve problems, cast votes or on occasions audiences can find clues or make discoveries. Each theatre event has a different design. Within each show the audience will be taken to different locations(inside or outside) where scenes are enacted. Actors may need to improvise their interactions with the audience.

From the audience perspective there are no lines to learn. They do not have to get too involved. The actors will control the interactions - the actors serve both as characters and guides.

There are three main components: the audience, the actors, and the story - all rolled into one. A short synopis of interactive theatre works is below.

Interactive theatre – where you form part of the unfolding narrative.
Play witness to fully scripted performances in which actor led interaction means that you become involved in shaping the outcome of the story. Where the fate of character lives may depend on the decisions you make.
Interactive theatre – where the fourth wall has been burned to the ground. It’s just you, the characters and the story all rolled into one.
